Clipless Pedals

Hi, I've just ventured into the world of clipless pedals. Bought myself a set of Wellgo 'Look' type pedals with red cleats. I've set them up so that they feel comfortable and roughly in the same place my feet would be if still in Clips and straps. However, after about 25 miles i start to get 'pins and needles' in my feet and eventually cramp!!! Not good!!! Not sure if it's the shoes or the cleat position that's causing the problem. Shoes are 'Jolly' shoes. Anyone have any ideas on how to get the best fit? Thanks Mark

sounds like the shoes/fastenings are too tight - probably nothing to do with the pedals....

    +1 for the above...

as for the cramp, that'll have nothing to do with the cleats....probably not drinking enough water

check that the end of the cleat bolts are not putting pressure or deforming the inside of the shoe, they can be a bit long some times

if they are screw a nut onto the bolt and grind down slightly

and have you corrected for the drop / rise in height due to the pedals and shoes, it might be only 10mm but might make the difference
  • Thanks for that guys. I'll try the adjustments. Much appreciated :D:D
