Hi everybody,

The Racelight T is the first bike i've built up from a frame I got it from a guy off the forum in March. It's been a long haul I had to wait weeks for the paint for the frame, the guy spraying the frame was off work looking after his wife. I got it back and built it up with Ultegra gear apart from the long drop tektro brakes since the picture was taken I've added Ultegra pedals to match. I'm very pleased with result, it rides really well .......bring on the miles. The Raleigh i've had about 20 years and just updated parts the wheels are the original Mavic MA2's I can never see me parting with this bike I've done miles on in April I did the way of the roses on without a glitch. Here's the pics hope you like em both.

It's good fun building up bikes as you want - I always find that complete bikes have stuff on them you don't want and miss out stuff you do!

The Raleigh is very like my old Road Ace that I had resprayed in metallic green with silver fade panels on the main tubes. It's still up in the loft because I can't bear to throw it away and nobody would want it now.

love the old raleigh, really want one like that in good condition
  • Thanks for the replies, there does seem to be an abundance of very nice of the shelf carbon bikes available I just wanted to try a different angle, I've enjoyed the challenge of building up the Racelight and I suppose it's a little diffferent with the spec. My lad now wants to have a go at cycling so I've started building a bike up for him, has anybody got any used 105 sti's in working order? It's the only part I'm waiting for, I don't want to buy new in case he doesn't take to it.

    Cheers
  • The Raleigh is a lesson in the department of steep head angles.
