Magnetic Brake Pads

My bike's fitted with Hayes MX4 disk brakes and, while I'm very pleased with them, the front pads are starting to wear down a fair bit now. A while ago I bought some replacements and yesterday tried to fit them.
The pads I took out are magnetic and just clip in, but the new ones are backed with copper which is not magnetic. When I put them in they don't stay in place. Are they all right to use? I'd imagine they'd drag along the rotor when not in use?

sounds like you have the wrong pads. but if they are the right size then they may rattle a little.
the back plate will still be steel and the magnet in the caliper should still work."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
