Does anyone know the size of the bottom bracket I need for a Carrera Vengeance?
The one in mine has got play in it and I'm told is a sealed unit so will need replacing.
Also what is the best one to buy?
Thanks.

measure the shell width 68 or 73mm

and then the axle length depends on what cranks are fitted.

Not sure I follow what you mean?
The Beginner was correct about the size and I have since spoken to Halfords and the choice seems to be limited to a Shimano UN54.

it comes down to that is fitted. IS it a UN54 fitted and are the cranks as specced? or was something changed before you received it.

the spec list is only a guide.

Again, thanks for the reply's :)
Seems more to this than I thought.
All I know about the chain set is that its a Shimano and its a square taper fitment.
