Hi i was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for accommodation near ambleside. Im trying to arrange a trip for about 8 of us to go up for s long weekend in october and im looking for a bunkbarn or maybe a house that we could use for the weekend. Doing a couple of routes starting from Ambleside as well as one starting from Stavely.

How about Ambleside YH:

Eight of us stayed there in May and it was perfect - in the town, a bargain, a restaurant & bar etc.
First time I'd ever stayed in a YH and it was superb.0 -
It all depends on how deep your pockets are? If your after a house, the national trust have lots of holiday cottages to stay in but they're not cheap! Check the web. I agree with the other posts though. To save money, which you can use for extra beers etc the hostels are a good bet. Most of them have somewhere to keep your bikes safe and are fairly cheap.
Hopefully for you the weather won't be as bad as it is today. Ah the Lake District Summer or is it Autumn? Hard to tell!!I have never been lost but I do admit to being confused for several weeks!

We stayed in a place called Ambleside Backpackers a few years back. Great location, good security for bikes and cheap. Had a great time!0
