But don't you worry about any fellow cyclists caught out in the rain...?

I love cycling in the rain, but ONLY when I am prepared, and not caught out, as I was last month when I went out in ultra-light summer short-sleeve jersey and sun-block on my arms it was so hot.

30 mins later, the end of the world came and the road was like a river.

Felt a bit foolish cycling back home that day!

When I got home, I even had to wring my socks out!

They should have cycled faster and been home sooner

It took my shoes two days to dry out after the Lance Armstrong twitter ride in Dornoch last month.

I wonder how long it took Lance Armstrong to dry out.

Did you get chance to say anything to Lance?

Could you keep up with him?! ;-)

It was amazingly busy. I was at the wrong end of the main street (thought he'd leave in the opposite direction) so ended up at the back of 400+ cyclists on some pretty narrow roads. I came around a headland and saw the guys at the front around 500m in front of me with a solid line of cyclists all the way! There must have been about the same behind me as I'd overtaken loads by that point. Guy who owns my LBS had a blether with him though. One guy drove overnight from Devon.

I kept up all right and managed to get further ahead but the biggest problem was trying get past folk. I saw the back of his head from about 10 feet away at the end but that was it. Superb fun though, to be in such a huge peleton was incredible. At one point I was on the main A9 doing around 30 mph 4 abreast in a throng of cyclists and not a car in sight. On the way back on a smaller road folk were even overtaking cars. Unforgettable experience and worth the drenching half way round.

I overhead a Policewoman going up to him and saying, "where do you plan on taking them Mr Armstrong?". Doubtless worried about road chaos.

Watching the clouds change shape on a windy day.
  • ...temporary.

Got in last night just before it rained and just in time to see a beautiful rainbow over Greenwich Park from the shelter of my flat.

This afternoon, eventually got myself out on the road again and in about the same amount of time that I'd escaped the rain last night, stairrods, cats, dogs and la vache qui pisse poured down on me.

... hopefully being told by the consultant that my collar bone has started to heal naturally and I won't have to get sliced open and screwed back together, and that the physio lass will be a real babe who has a thing for recently injured cyclists

What do I ride? Now that's an Enigma!

Went out yesterday afternoon after heavy Morning rain had eased to just rain. Unfortunatly where I was heading was still under heavy rain. Wet, Cold 1/2 way Really wet cold by time got home 52 Miles. Hands would'nt work by time got home, had to use opposite hands to change gear. Ah the good old Summertime.

It's always either raining or 5 minutes from rain in Aviemore (I know, I grew up in Glenmore.)

That's just plain not true! Often it's snow instead of rain.

Hot summers evening sipping a G&T on a nice terrace, with that deep happy tiredness you get after a long ride.
