hehe thanks
I only found out about the trail maintenance going on today, at 9:30 this morning!
If I had known, I would have popped down to give you guys a hand.0 -
There's another one pencilled in for September, someone will put the details on their Facebook page.0

Yes enjoyed getting rid of some of that damned vegetation off Loop 2 on Saturday-PAYBACK! Last weekend some of those branches almost took my eyes out. Did I lop off the branches, did I hell, just cut the whole trees down! (As instructed by the FC warden- even better!)
We only got through half of the second singletrack on Loop 2 though. It's a real eyeopener on how labour intensive keeping the undergrowth at bay is! :roll:0 -

If you're after volunteers, and I'm free, I'd be happy to come along and give a hand.0 -
Did loop 1 of Penmachno today and was really impressed. Fire road climbs not too taxing and always seem to lead to some great single track. In fact as others have said there seems to be loads of single track, most of it very tight and technical (for me anyway). Well sign posted as well. Cant wait to go back and do both loops.
Oh, by the way, its VERY wet in places, but adds to the fun.Canyon Nerve XC7

Did Penmachno on Saturday in pouring rain and I can confirm it was Wet with a capital W. We didn't see a soul from leaving the carpark and all the way round the extension loop only catching up with 4 guys as we rejoined the main circuit. One other passed us and that was everyone we saw all afternoon.
Can see what you mean about 'Marmite'. Think I was being a wuss because the veerrryy looonng board walk in the middle of the extension freaked me out completely. How come that sort of thing is fine for 25 metres or so but extend it much longer and suddenly it feels unsafe?0 -
going down to llangefni soon to see my dad but i think i will give penmachno a good riding after i have seen him. looked at some pics off more dirt.com and it looks good to me 8) i wished i lived back in wales
is there a post code for sat navs or any villiages/pubs etc nearby?0 -
You ladies are getting complacent if you think the Marin is a poor trail, what you don't like riding up hills, diddums...0

Nearest postcode is LL24 0OG which is the village itself. Trail start is after the village on the right. Pub in the village but not tried it. Failing that plenty around Betws y Coed which is a couple of miles up the road.

Here's a link to some trail "centre" locations. Penmachno is number 5.
On my sat-nav, I can scroll to where I want on the map by hand, and tap it to set a destination, and it's a really old sat-nav.
Surely you don't need a postcode on newer ones.
