Morning mongs

It's SATURDAY!!!!!!

I'm finally free, never ever ever going straight from 6 weeks of living in the library at uni straight into a 4 week placement, it was horrible. Ayway 3 weeks of doing naff all, then a week getting paid to house/pet sit, then a week in the Lake District, then another couple of weeks doing naff all before I head back to uni for freshers week where I've been made a Fresher Devil on acount of my actions last year

So lots of playing bikes lies ahead for me, but today it's road bikes sadly. Then tomorrow I'll be off to Cannock, then Monday I'm not sure where I'll go, so many possibilities.

Anyway I'm in a massively good mood today.

FFS! Too early for the 6th day!!!

Off to Cannock today with my mate Ray, we are going to ride the Monkey Trail, FTD and the 12 mile blue route in a day. Or die trying
I work that out at 30 odd miles or about 50KM, so no biggie, I've done a few 50KM+ events before..

So let me load up my car, stuff come crumpets into my gut and get this day on the go!
  • Off to do the black route at Laggon Wolftrax today on my own sadly. My pal got drunk last night and ended up fighting with his girlfriend so he has some big time making up to do!!!

Got told at work yesterday that i have to go and visit the Dubai office for about a fortnight. Its about a constant 40C just now and nothing but loads of sand. Anybody got any experience of cycling in the desert?

In a tent. Head backwards. Glitter. Everywhere. New contact in phone....I think he was 18. If I'd have been less drunk I would definitely have broken him.

Morning all, not going anywhere as the power steering pump on my car decided to give up on me yesterday

If this rain stops I might get out later on the road bike.

best way to be safe at one of those is to wear arseless hotpants and a butterfly mask, their sort will steer clear of you dressed like that. Oh and skip a lot. We were going to be in Amsterdam for that but found it hard to get a hostel this weekend.

Plus point, went for a few beers last night, €7.30 for two beers, paid with a 20 and the odd 30c and realised later I'd been given €33 change. Obviously I went back and corrected the mistake.

Karma though, different hostel, same old museli may have to go on a bacon hunt

Morning. No riding today, I told my old man I'd go see an airshow with him, but right now the weather's looking horrendous. Might use that as an excuse to go riding instead.

In a good mood today. I replaced the broken bathroom scales yesterday. The old ones had been stating that I ws 16 stone for, well, ages, well over a year.
But apparently, I am 14 and a half stone. So that's cheered me up a bit

On the upside the wife was talking about baking one of her awesome lemon & poppy seed cakes and some flapjacks this morning :D

    Good morning freaks!

Don't think I'm going to get a ride in today - working later. :( Again busy with work, but hopefully it will calm down a bit next week once these visitors have gone home. Much as I'm enjoying my new role, the hours are starting to suck. Not like I get overtime, just time off in leiu - which is currently going to be impossible to take.

Meanwhile, full cooked breakfast should keep my spirits up... :D

Me - Ive got three packets of Hobnobs and a twix you can have.
Them - Ok, it will be done by Monday.

Packing for France tomorrow. Off to the Loire region for a couple of weeks then a few days in Paris on the way home.

Haven'y told the missus I'm picking a trek 9.9 ssl up on Sunday morn as she'll have a fit, Save that for when return though will have two other bikes I'll be selling/ Breaking so watch out for bits appearing.

Might go for a cycle today see how things go.

Possible Chinese tonight but can't decide if to have take-away or eat out.
I'm going to blow the bank on a new build ( within reason ) NOW DONE!!

Just tell her you've had it for ages, like they do with shoes

Afternoon i'm feeling a little delicate after going to old trafford last night to say goodbye to a footballing great, just dropped the bike off at the lbs for a brake bleed as i'm off to wales next weekend for 3 days and my back brake is worse than usless atm. May go out for a couple of beers this afternoon.

Saw a fantastic fight last night outside a club with two womens fighting with bouncers follwed by about 5 lads all kicking the crap out of each other. It got better when the police turned up as one took a swing at a copper which resulted in about 6 coppers slamming the lad headfirst into the side of a merc :D at the end of the day theres only gonna be one winner in those kind of situations.
What if your dreams and fears existed in the same place? What if to get to heaven, you had to brave hell? What if everything you've ever wanted cost you everything you've ever achieved? Would you still go there?

A good day at Cannock, sadly my mate has a bout of manflu and was knackered after FtD, so the ride was just FtD
We rented him a bike and it was an entry level Giant HT, which we noticed had a massive flat spot on the rear tyre, obviously from some ingrain who'd rented it before.

All in a good ride, but I will be going back tomorrow to do the Monkey Trail tomorrow

btw i serviced the forks of the kona kula as they were pretty shagged. i found a suntour internal in the forks to my suprise. no complaints as it works perfectly.

after a clean and an oil change(it had less than half of the oil required) they are running nice and smooth :)

I'd have loved to but I suspect I would have been wearing by testicles as a scarf if I'd buffered off mtbing but thanks.

In the end went on the most boring 2 1/2 hour boat tour of the dockyards, was essentially a trip around an industrial estate.
