I know its a MTB and I know it will be prone to scratches, dings and knocks, but i stupidly put a couple of scratches n my carbon frame today, can anyone suggest a way of doing a touch up job, they are not deep but noticeable, the frame is raw carbon glossed.

Thanks

If you want to know how I, I was cleaning it it slipped and slid down a retaining wall, I have tried to helitape the frame but it is such an awkward shape that i ended up just helitaping the parts that are prone to cable rub.

You can get clear gelcoat repair kits for boats and canoes they might be worth looking at.

If you are having trouble fitting helitape the following link might prove useful: http://www.biketart.com/products/biketape the video shows the wet technique which is especially good for difficult shapes. Good luck. :)

Thanks, it is not the application that is proving difficult, it is the general shape of the frame that is the problem, the 456 frame is not cylindrical as as normal frame
  • A small bottle of clear nail varnish will do the job, costs next to nothing and lasts ages.
