Hi
Hoping to get some guidance here. Bought my bike in jan. it came equipped with Easton Vista SL wheels. The wheels were great! ... until the spokes started breaking two months ago with around 1000kms on them. Got to a point where i was breaking a spoke to two on every ride...
So i complained to CRC who i bought the bike from... that didnt go satisfactorily due to me being in another country.
So i wrote to Easton who were slow at replying but offered to rebuild with new spokes and rims if i sent them the hubs back after dismantling the wheels.
Now the wheels are dismantled and the hubs are in the mail, on way to Easton. judging by Easton's slow response... seems like i will be without wheels for atleast a month. Which is a long time. I am wondering whether i should:
1. buy a second pare of wheels while i wait for them to send something back. i will probably end up buying some sub-250 wheels.
2. Also since i am a bit tight budgeted, i am wondering if the old (like new) rims can be used in a rebuild with new spokes and hubs.
Rims in link below:
If you guys think the wheels will be good for a rebuild, anyadvice on where i can buy some good hubs and spokes? the rims are 20h and 24h
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I just bought some Novatec 20/254's from fleabay for £32 + £13 P&P
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/250855303552
Not the lightest of hubs, but I fancy having a go at building some myself with some deep dish rims that I managed to find.
At that price you can't really go wrong.0 -
Novatech hubs are great value and used by Planet-X & lots of the big companies for OEM / no brand. Also try SDeals website if you don't fancy Fleabay. Spokes you can start with ACI Double-butted for 30p all the way to Sapim CX-Rays for £2 each.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
