ive been into mountain biking for 18 months now and really enjoy it. last year i completed the Manchester 100km on my mountain bike which seemed easier than thought. this year though after getting hooked by the TDF im buying my first road bike.

ive gone for the Specialized Allez 16. Is this a decent bike to start with and will it increasemy performance in this years manchester 100?

    Yes and yes! Found myself in exactly your position and got an Allez and it's been really good so far- done about 800 miles on it. Fact I'm considering doing the 100 mile option this year instead!
