Hi all,
After a bit of advice, i really like the lok of this bike and its local to me. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Trek-1-1-Road ... 4cf91cda7b I want it as a first bike/winter bike, because next yar i may have a chance of C2W due to a possible job move.
I have just returned to biking using my old MTB (giant nrs) but i really am aiming at a road bike.Where i live is relatively hilly which i am coping with on the MTB ok
granny ring on some hills, but i get up eventually.
I do not understand road bike gearing and i am suspecting this particular bike may not suit me. Should i really be looking for a triple or would this trek be ok? According to treks sizing info 58cm should suit me as i am 6'3"
So what do you guys think to the trek as 1st road bike (obviously i would have to win the auction)
best regards
jma

Gearing wise you will be fine as its fitted with a compact 50/34 front chainset.
If you want it lower you could change the cassette for a 12 27 to help even further.
The thing that concerns me is that he says he is 6ft ish and the seat post is very high and there is loads of spacers under the stem.
Double check with the sizing or drop in a shop and try one for size.
It may be worth while to ask him for his inside leg measurement and compare against yours. If yours is larger you may have to watch out for low bridges

Thanks for the advice,
I noticed the seat height too, i am going to send him a question regarding his inside leg measurement and height.
