Im sure this has been asked before...but my cranks were starting to wobble from side to side so i took the cranks off and saw that the Bottom Bracket was in need of replacement. only problem is the left hand cup will not unscrew.

Any suggestions?

The drive side is left hand thread but that's usually referred to as the right hand side. Is that the one you mean?

is it carbon or alloy bike?
  • Are you sure you're turning the correct way? If you have a workbench-mounted vice you could lock the splined BB tool in the jaws, and then turn the ENTIRE bike frame around it. Should give enough leverage, but make sure you're turning the correct way! Otherwise get a longer spanner or bar.
