Hayes Sole brake needs new pads...
Little grub screw that holds the fixed piston in place is stuck and rounds off as soon as 1mm allen key is turned...go for the easy-out cure but now the little grub screw has turned into the toughest material known to man and won't yield to any drill bit.
Finally get a hole through it (using snapped end of drill - don't ask me why!) and screw in easy-out.
End of easy-out snaps off in hole. Now have to drill out grub screw and broken tool.
About 2 hours later finally get the remains of the grub screw out - to find that fixed piston is seized anyway and won't turn.
Bah.

sounds normal for those brakes."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
