Which would you say was most important when upgrading a wheel - the front or back or neither or should I wait to buy both at the same time (to get the same life expectancy although there will be only a 4-5 gap between purchases)??

I have enough money to purchase ONE wheel only at this time.

Basically, does the front or back take most abuse.

I will have a Ragley piglet (HARDTAIL), the wheels from my boardman are more x country (ritchey pro rims on formula branded hubs).

I will be purchasing hope 2 evo on stans flow.

Thanks

Ryan

The back wheel makes the most difference - nearly 20% of the overall weight of the bike. BTW don't forget to replace that ugly, heavy cassette as well.

Don't think it really matters but I would replace the back first on a chunky hardtail.

I'd have thought the Boardman wheels are more than adequate for a bike like the Piglet - both are designed as 120mm trail machines, albeit different geometry. The bike I tested had a lightweight WTB set up on, and this was straight from Ragley themselves.

Unless you want it to match of course. For that both is defo best.

Anyway - our opinions are worthless to him.

I'll continue to save uo and get them as a pair. Good point - Would look bit odd with different wheels.

Bike needs a bit of bling, havent got anything else that needs 8) blinging 8) / replacing.

thanks to EVERYONE for your input
