We are Heading off to Laggan next thursday, Fort Bill next Friday, and somewhere for next saturday morning. Anyone know what would be good for a few hours then, before heading home on Saturday afternoon?
Anyone tried Abreachan near Inverness? We will have a trail bikes and DH bikes with us.
Wanting to try something other than our usual places(if anyone knows of any). Usually we head to Learnie Red rock, kyle of sutherland, Golspie, so some where diffrent!

  • Abriachan is ok - was there last year for an afternoon.

The red route was interesting / varied enough to make it an enjoyable day - probably not a bad call for a couple of hours if that's all you're planning.

Another option not too far away from Abriachan is Balnain Bike park, a few miles west up the glen from Drumnadrochit. As the name suggests it's more of a skills park than a DH / trails centre, but again good fun if you have a couple of hours to kill.

You could easily do Abriachan and Balnain together - they're only about 20 odd minutes apart by car.

Another ( better ? ) thought is the Puffer route at Contin, north of Inverness.

I live in Inverness, about the same distance from Abriachan and Contin. I've done Abriachan once and the Puffer more times than I care to mention - which probably tells you which one I prefer !

There's also loads of options for natural routes, such as Ryvoan, Glen Feshie, Glen Einich or Burma Road all at Aviemore for example, or the Forest Loop at Invergarry.
