Hi all, Was stripping and cleaning my brothers drivetrain after he'd been riding near the coast as it was starting to go orange!

I've taken apart the rear mech to make sure no frit or sand was in the jockey wheels, putting the rear mech back together, I either have to tighten the bolts so tight the jockey whyeels wont wpin, or, when loose enough to spin, thye free themselves after a mile of riding.

Am I doing something wrong or is locktite the key? If so, what variety of locktite do I need to procure?

Many thianks

Simon

well sorrry to say you are doing something wrong. the bolts that go through the jockey wheels have a shoulder on then so you can not over tighten them.

check they have no extra parts in there. that things are the right way round that you have not packed them with grease etc....

No apology required! If anything that's the answer I wanted to hear. I'll go out and check everything is in order, perhaps I didnt seat the metal washer pieces correctly.

Would you recommend using locktite on them regardless?
