That's just lovely, loving those Felts .... almost bought an AR1 last year.
  • I guess Felt, Easton, Shimano are what you use when someone first takes up cycling.

    Thanks for your comments :)

However im not sure about this one...
I guess Felt, Easton, Shimano are what you use when someone first takes up cycling.

I started 2 years ago with a Ribble bike with Campag.

I'm intrigued by your bizarre comment, please enlighten me :?
  • I know it's an 'aero' road bike frame, but lose the Specialized TT bottle. Looks a little foolish.

    Nice bike otherwise.

I think some elucidation is required. In your own time, mate.

Btw, did you ever make that charity donation you promised?

Don't waste your time. Take a look at his previous posts in this section. Childish, poorly reasoned, irrational.... you get the picture. He's what i'd regard as a total bellend.

Whilst i equally hate the 'Wow, nice bike. Looks great' comments repeated like mantra, the bellend's alternatives don't even make sense.

My personal opinion of the bike is that it's a little too busy aesthetically. Maybe black bar tape or removing the wheel decals would make it smoother on the eye.

Hmm, i was thinking black bar tape and saddle actually... Thanks for your opinion. Keeping the wheels as they are though, i loves em lol

  • Felt, Shimano, Easton are, well, not very inspiring. They kind of translate into 'Ford Mondeo'. You go in any bike shop and what do you see: Felt, Shimano, Easton.

Thanks for posting your picture. But I have seen that bike already. A 'bike out of a box' dunna do much for me.

Are you for real? The OP obvs thinks that is a great bike otherwise he wouldn't have bought it. What you think is best isn't what other people think. People have different tastes.

You think your wife is beautiful, I think she's an ugly b*t*h.

EDIT: I do not know his wife, was just banter

Nice enough bike, but not much imagination, just copied from a car manufacturer...

While I agree with your sentiments, you probably didn't need to bring the guy's wife into it.

    Let's play nice, lads.

So what do people ride when they've been riding for a while then? Or do they just get more concemed with the name on the tube than the bike?

I'm not sure a cheap carbon frame from China painted up to suit some private cyclist is MY idea of class. I'd take a bike out of the box over that any day.

lol never heard so much bull$hit, ignore him Shinsplint, a guy who thinks a chinese import is a touch of class deffo puts himself in to the category of "not the brightest spark in the box", bike looks nice, nothing out of the box about it, eastons fat decals compliment the white finish nicely.

haha fellas this is hilarious! come on, shimano: mastered electronic shifting - yes, while it doesnt have the aesthetics of campag, it is a brand synonymous with quality and leads the way in innovation.

easton?!? hand made one pair at a time, acoustically tensioned by their skilled engineers.

felt!??! yeah well whatever, not a colnago style passion job but hey they practically help integrate the whole road/aero frames into mainstream..(great paint job for north american designers)

they are in every store for a reason mate, just like a mondeo, does the job---well.

as to the bike, it looks like a solid performer and i like it, up close, the felts have a nicely finished carbon job (which i think the details matter a lot) one comment would be to ditch the second cage, the aero looks like it would carry enough fluids!

when the winter comes, black tape & black saddle...

also, i like the decals, it blends well...busy frames need busy wheels to balance other wise the congestion is too centred.

    ride hard & fast mate!

Bike looks really fast, hope you ride the snot outta it. Is it stiff when sprinting full gas? I'm in the market for an aero bike - Canyon, Cervelo, Time, Look, or this - but I hear they're not as stiff as their square-tubed bretheren and I'm a reasonably strong 84 kg'er.

Re BBB: to each his own. A forum needs people from all perspectives across the full spectrum otherwise we'd be the BORG and no one would stick around to read. Now, BBB could be a little more 'couth' in his delivery so that he'd leave people more 'gruntled' with his posts but he's needed.

If you've noticed I'm big on bike fit. I'm always keen to coach/push posters into striving over time into the most most aero position they can adopt b/c, all things being equal, I believe this really helps people go faster. And fast is fun.

The last principle of the internet, or Britain Has Talent for that matter, is if you post you gotta be ready for anything and everything you get back.
    When a cyclist has a disagreement with a car; it's not who's right, it's who's left.
  • Great looking bike and obviously built to perform with a very hight standard of components tested by many pro teams.
I'd rather have something that worked well than something that was different just for the sake of it.

Really nice bike and as far as the ford mondeo reference goes ive never seen one of these in this spec out on the road.

A ford mondeo would be a specialized allez, This is more a ford gt40.

I have only ridden a few road bikes, all of inferior quality, but I would say the AR is fairly stiff, but not too stiff... its a very comfy ride, but I can only compare to my previous Ribble Sportive, or old aluminium frames.

When i'm giving it full gas out the saddle there is a touch of brake-rub on the rear rim, but I think thats probably down to the wheels rather than the frame, as there's hardly any rub since upgrading the wheels.

On another note, I didn't choose the Felt for bling factor, although admittedly it helps  I basically wanted the best I could afford, having suffered too many issues with cheaper inferior kit (no brands mentioned). I spend a lot of time riding, and admit I went over my budget to get something I really wanted. I've never looked back. The Dura-Ace kit is superb, never needs adjusting once its set up, feels great to ride, the frame is light and stiff, and I like the aero styling. It works for me :)
