Rear Shock Query

Afternoon all
Looking to maybe replace the rear shock on my recently purchased FSR XC frame.
Currently has an X-Fusion and I'm looking at a Fox RP23 instead
The current shock is 7.5” x 1.75”, which is not standard.
Could I fit a 7.5” x 2.0” instead ? have found reports online from people who have doen this, but i wanted to check
I've spoken to Mojo and they said they can adjust a 7.5” x 2.0” down to 1.75”, but it would either have to be a new shock or I would have to get it serviced at the same time, both of which are expensive options
I can’t seem to find any info online about doing it yourself, which suggests that maybe you shouldn’t...

well what it will do is increase your travel by 12.5% which could cause parts of the frame to come into contact with each other and may be the tyre will hit the seat tube/post saddle."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
