Slicing Soreen.

  • I find chainsaws usually work quite well, they don't need much pressure and they're fast, the only thing is you need a new chopping board every time and something to collect the crumbs.

After the first two of three slices mine just squashes when you press down with the knife.

    Thats all.
I use my lightsabre but it does tend to only give me 2-3 slices from a loaf, if i dont have it to hand then i just use my awsomeness to slice it

if you want it square buy the sliced one, or use a reciprocating say and clamp it in a vice gently.

If you are using a breadknife that works too, unless you've got the wrist action of an epileptic 13 year old thumbing through the shower fittings in Great Universal looking for side boob.

Or I mean thats what I do

That toaster-knife thing from the remake of Hitch-hikers guide would be perfect too.

something sharp an unserated.... Use a GENTLE pushing down while gently sawing back and forth type of action. Clean knife after each cut. never force it. If necessary lubricate knife with butter. (your only going to have to butter the slice afterwards anyway...)

Why not pray for it to become cut? If your faith is strong, it shall be done.

do not push the knife down, just let it cut under it's own weight

clean the blade after every slice

    or buy it ready cut
...you were doing so well, and then you had to mention the ready cut malt loaf.

Please leave this thread and have a word with yourself.
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.
  • I want some malt loaf now.

I'm also curious as to how good a job my meat cleaver would make of slicing it.

I have to ask WTF is going on with this place now, it's full of spackers that can't slice bread, balance their bike for a photo or index gears on some mad invention. I'm really angry and disappointed with the lack of manliness bring displayedn, it's like you've all developed breasts and a tiny womans brain. it's embarrasing

If It helps I usually cut mine with the saw fitment on my rambo knife, on the rare occaisions I eat it of course, as it's a sweet girly treat.

Real malt loaf is called veda, and should be eaten toasted with butter and cheese.

Well, one of them is something you make WITH bara brith, so there's only one bread-thing better than it

courseit has, it's the crudcatcher. Look no real harm done though, just MTFU a bit and then you'll find a woman to slice it for you. If she gets it wrong then there's ways of making sure it doesn't happen again!
