Has anyone got a link to a decent route planner please? I don't have any kind of GPS (yet) and i want to find a couple of decent cycle routes. Thanks

    http://bikeroutetoaster.com/ is a good one.

I also use mapmyride, but they've updated it and I find the new version slow and cumbersome, there's still the 'classic' version available at http://classic.mapmyride.com/

bikeroutetoaster is great for the following: to design a route on a google map (with open source mapping available), to export said route to your garmin as a course, with waypostmarks; to import a gpx file from any source and re export to garmin as a course file(v handy).

Bikeradar has its own on board website which logs user's routes for download called bikely. unfortunately (although it is the best of its type) it often seems to go down and needs more server capacity to be useful. (are you listening bikeradar?????????)

Once you have finally made the jump and bought a Garmin (you know it makes sense!), the Connect website is great for robbing other people's routes!

Thanks for those links. I'm only delaying the inevitable Garmin purchase, but if i can just hold out until i hopefully get some money from my claim (after being knocked off), then my wife would be a whole lot happier. :):)

I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.
