If you are looking for "recessed" SPD SL shoes, then I think you'll be struggling. I find them ok to walk in - not long distances admittedly, but short distances fine. If you want you can also buy covers for the cleats to stop them wearing out.

Why do you want to walk in SPD-SL compatible shoes? They are for cycling, not walking.
