A wheelset question with a difference...

Thought I would have a bash at road racing next year so I think a wheelset upgrade is due (any excuse). The problem is im not sure what profile of wheel to go for. I really like the look of the Shimano C35 but could not afford the £800 price tag. Can anyone think of a similar profile wheel (ie not a deep section or a shallow rim but somewhere in the middle) for around £600??

Thanks

Campag Shamal Ultras or Fulcrum Racing Zeroes.

If you can stretch to 700 they are the business.

    Or go handbuilt.

Given some of the stories I read about 3rd Cat racing (and the fact that you appear to be new to it), does it not make sense to ride something reasonable rather than in the top end bracket? Then again, when did sense ever come into a bike related purchase :)
