I use a Hyrdrapak, just some useless info there

It has a 2L bladder and I use a mix of 500ml Gatorade and 1.5l of water
    It works for me

Isostar tablet in an an old san pelligrino bottle, the lid of which I have hacked to feed into the camelbak drinking tube. (Putting energy drink in the actual bladder is a recipe for a rank stagnant water taste, unless you wash it out (which I forget to do)).

just water so it doesn't go rank as I'm too lazy to clean it

I was always under the impression that small flying monkeys would swoop down and carry me away if I tried to put anything other than water in my CB.

I too am lazy so think I better stick with water only..

I've used High5, Torq and Sci-MX Performance mix in mine but I'm not too lazy to clean it out though. It helps me to have something to replace electrolites and provide me carbs for the ride. I'm going to make my own next time using ingredients from:
    http://www.myproteine.com
There are some good recipes about and there's a reasonable saving to be made. But you have to be keen otherwise it's easier to just buy pre-made mixes. They're proven and taste good.
    Many happy trails!

Just water as I'm lazy. If I know the ride's going to be particularly long or hard then I might take a water bottle with a High 5 tablet in from my collection of free samples. But for 30 mile rides I'm usually fine with just water

    Just water here too.
My camelbaks are 2 and 3 litre reservoirs, and I certainly don't need that much sports drink or isotonic drink.
I might take a bottle of lucozade sport as well it it's a particularly hot day, or I'm going to be out for a long long time.

Usually just water, sometimes with a High5 electrolyte tablet or 2 on a long ride to reduce chance of cramping.

thanks i was asking as i found the hose a nightmare to clean after the high 5 powder, i'll try water with a isotonic tab in.
  • Just water as well. Sometimes take a bottle with some Viper in it if it's going to be a seriously long ride but water is normally all that is needed.

A good tip for cleaning the bladder is to use baby sterilising fluid. Works a treat for very little effort.

A bit of High Juice (50% juice squash which is loads of fruit juice that has loads of sugar & carbs) + water + pinch of salt.

Diluting juice with 2 teaspoon of suger and a teaspoon of salt and then mixed in a 2 litre bladder.

Water. If I'm racing and want energy stuff I'll take a bottle, if it's long/hot enough to need isotonic/ energy stuff I'll take a bottle and the camelbac

I've cleaned mine once in a year or so, could do with doing again as it's gone mouldy again, ah well, it's good for your immune system!

Works great, and very quick to defrost. Assuming it was empty when frozen!

If it comes to it for cleaning though, Milton tablets and a long piece of wire pipe cleaner for the tube. But freezing means you rarely need to clean.

Yeah that's how i did it last time, though i had to leave the bladder in my room at uni to dry and the chlorine gave me a sore throat for like 3 days  Might try the freezer trick next time!

I just give the bladder (Deuter Streamer) a 1 min wash with water after each ride, and it's fine.
