Hi guys, in a bit of a muddle and a newbie.
I have a fixed gear Schwinn Madison currently sporting some square taper Lasco cranks, the problem is that the left crank arm mounting hole has started to round off, the bottom bracket itself is fine.
Is it just a case of getting a new 5 arm square taper crankset or is there other things i need to take into consideration.
grateful for all help.

You've got it right, not sure if with fixies it is the same, but i'd assume so. A 5 arm square taper crankset will be needed, just also check to make sure the BCD (the holes to mount the chainrings spacing size) is the same.0

Thanks for the quick reply it seems that the cranks are supposed to run two rings but only has one as a fixed gear.I did check on Sheldon Browns page for BCD and it seems mine is 130.
Just was'nt sure if there was something i was missing.2008 Kona Dawg Deluxe http://s1187.photobucket.com/albums/z39 ... luxe%2008/

Nope that should be everything, you may to pick up a set of singlespeed cranks though, as this allows for only 1 chainring to be attached, and can simplify things a bit.0

You can often buy a generic forged left crank, cheaply. It may be less easy than it once was, because the square taper interface is less common now, but it's worth checking your LBS. Check that the offset is appropriate (a few mm either way is fine, as long as it clears the chainstay)0
