if your life is in danger you are allowed to take necessary steps to protect yourself. Against multiple opponents + gun situation I can see him not being charged/get off - as he should tbh.

Just like the case the other week, where the person was arrested after stabbing an (alleged) burglar in his house. He was arrested on suspicion of murder or manslaughter, then released after questioning, then it was announced that no charges would be made.

We are allowed to defend ourselves, despite what the papers might pretend, I'm sure the police are just investigating the circumstances.

About 15 years ago in Portsmouth there was a story about an elderly former Royal Marine who made mince meat of an attempted mugger. You get lots of special forces types in Pompey, so be careful who you attempt to mug!
