Hi
I've just registered a new event with British Cycling so I'm just giving riders advance notice of a charity event on Friday 2nd September 5pm to 8pm at Donington Park race circuit.
The event is entirely in aid of Hope Against Cancer http://www.hfcr.org. It is being run by myself and people at Hope and is non-commercial, meaning all proceeds from the day after unavoidable expenses go to the charity.
The rides on offer are
45 mins 3/4 circuit race £18.50
Youth A/B 30 mins £8.00
Youth C 15 mins £8.00
Recreational ride on the circuit. £15.00 adult £5 junior U16
Possible Flying Lap Time Trial, watch this space.
I'm in the process of putting the web pages together for this with more detail and will post links as soon as possible.
Thanks
Ian

I love Donington Park!
Saw Senna there in '93 and I'd like nothing more than a blast round the circuit on my bike.
I'd be up for a few laps. Keep us updated.0 -

This is probably a daft question, but how does this work?
''45 mins 3/4 circuit race''
Would it not be better to have a specific amount of laps?0 -
It will be something like 35 minutes plus 5 laps, the lap board only going out after 35 minutes. We have limited time and according the BCF regs 45 mins is the minimum time for a circuit race in these categories. If we did laps and they were run off very slowly is would wreck the schedule for the evening. This way we can control it.
All the best

thinking of doing this as my first race. I take it I could get a day license?0
-
Yes, but the usual BC charge for it is additional to the entry fee.

fine.
Is it a proper race? i.e. for those that hold licenses the points will count?0 -
The entries page doesn't allow me to pay for the one day licence. Do I have to pay this on the day?0
