I have just finished my cycle from Birmingham to Paris, although i had to do the 4th leg (Amiens to Paris) the other way round due to a bit of an accident when i tried it the first time!

nice write up. I've only ridden in france once, from a tiny little hamlet and totally agree about the french drivers courtesy. Instead of trying to discuss your injury with the doc you should have just said "Hincapie", he'd have understood. Well done anyway.
Out of interest did you book hotels ahead or on the day.
