Hi guys I have been riding for years and have gone from XC to Dirt Jumping, downhill, road, you name it!

I stopped riding for about a year or so which left me unfit and out of shape, I have started riding a lot of road recently and have also entered into a century ride. I am really enjoying it and am hoping to get myself back into XC again.

I am hoping to sell my SX trail for about 1100ish, but am really stuck as to what to get.

I need an 18inch hardtail, has to be light but can take daily riding off road for sustained time, I am hoping to do the SDW soon so I would love to get something that is capable of taking this and more.

I'd rather have £1000 as my tops but if I can stay below I would love to. I am used to top of the range components so nothing too basic but I understand I won't be looking at lovely hope hubs and fox forks anymore!

Many thanks

Fox aren't always the best. Far from it.

For a solid XC bike look at the Zaskar Expert from Paul's Cycles.

Hey Joey as per with these threads everyone normally recommends the bike they ride, so i'm not going to break the tradition.

    Get this bike.

Seriously though, i dont actually ride this bike but i do own the carbon 456 from on one with a similar spec to this and if you do a search theres a couple of threads in the my bike section on this bike.

I think for the money your looking at spending it's a hard deal to beat.
Never argue with an idiot, he'll only drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Aye sonic I am very tempted by the GT, looks pretty well spec'd. Have you got any ideas on the weight?

And I know I have seen the whippet, it looks fantastic for the price and am again very tempted but it really is at the top of my budget as I don't want to be adding anything extra other than the money from my SX.
