Newbie question about chains

I have a old road bike with a 14 speed system, what size chain do I need?

I'm presuming a 7 speed one!

    Unless its one of those Rohloff 14 gear hub things, but you'd know if it was as they cost about a million pounds.

    I knew I was right, it was just a last minute panic.

    I could have quite easily just ordered another chain, and sent that one back once it arrived.

    Hardly a big deal, and hardly something to get "lucky" about.
