can anyone help with this? got a standard setup gt 3.0 avalanche and want to heighten the handle bars. thought i could just undo the head bolt and slide up but the whole front falls apart. is there any room for adjustment?

any help would be great :)

This is a threadless headset - you rearrange spacers to adjust height. It may be at its highest, in which case you need new stem and/or bars.

See Park Tools website on how to adjust a threadless headset.

Seconded, the GT's come with the stem set at its highest as standard, so you either need a riser style stem or riser bars or both depending on how much you want to raise the bars......
