Sorry but always bought off peg bikes based on inside leg measurement. After riding my Specialized Allez elite am thinking of going upmarket. Have test ridden a few bikes but have a bike fit booked later this week. Not sure what to expect? Do they just fit you to a bike instore, your expected to buy or do you get given a list of measurements to buy your own bike?
Any help. Sorry if basic question. Genuinely not sure.

no idea but its from a bike dealer that has a bike fit specialist. its at Phil Corleys in Milton Keynes. He used to ride professionally & is carrying out the fit.

Have a read of this thread for an idea. 23C is only round the corner, FWIW. Similar shops, similar outlooks on biking. This was what I had in my fit there.

OP. Your location shows you in Milton Keynes. Do yourself a favour and book a fit at 23C, top of Stony Stratford High Street down the alley way next to Cycle King (cough spit). It's the best £80 you can spend on bike goodies; 2-3 hours going through everything; Alan knows what he's on about and follow-ups are included. He's good.

This assumes that you're not talking about 23C already and he's whacked his prices up since I went last year. I didn't get a video though.

CiB, it looks like its £90 now for the basic fit and setup.

I take it thats what ShaneR and yourself had.

Got any views on the £175 Retul Fit ? Is really that much better. For 175 i would have thought you got your Cleat position done as well.

I paid £80 in March last year, so it's not a surprise it's gone up up wee bit. I don't recall every last detail but involved a lot of standing up being peered at & measured, a lot of measurements of me + bike, having my bike on the turbo and me riding it whilst still being peered at from many angles, measurements, adjustments, more peering, tweaks to one cleat to pull one knee in a bit, adjustments to the bike and the whole before & after measurements emailed to me in a spreadsheet, with the open invite to drop in anytime once those changes have settled for further adjustments that might be needed.

I can't do it justice in a glib post. It was extremely thorough; I did 20 miles before the fit and went home a longer way round doing another 25 afterwards and despite the eventual quite small changes - I had been quite close but was never happy with the new bike (from another outlet) - it really was night & day as a result of the fit. I couldn't recommend it too much.

I opted for the cheaper one as the reality is I use the bike for commuting and weekend rides of up to 100 miles or so; I don't need to get every last drop out of it even though I could probably do the commute in < 1 hour more if I did.
Phil Corley is good - never had a fit there but that's one of the best bike outlets around so you'll get a good fit. It's about fitting you to your bike, but a lot more involved.
