Dropout spacings

As I understand it, dropout spacings on the rear of older road bikes such as my steel frame were 130mm and are now 135mm and I intend to get mine cold set so I can fit a new rear wheel.
BUT
Has the spacing on the forks changed over the years or is it still the same?

first of define old.
it could be 120mm 126mm 130mm and 135mm
fork are generally 100mm if Qr fitting and standard nutted,

Just measured the front forks on all my bikes. All 100mm regardless of decade/bike type. Only 2 bikes out of 5 were originally QR, so you'll be fine.0
