Advice for setting cleat position on new shoes?
Got some new shoes, moved from SPDs to SPD-SLs and proper road shoes (Shimanos). The old shoes have done about 10k miles and were beginning to look their age.
I'm struggling to get the cleat position quite right. Seem to almost have it OK on the right but after a 30 miler today my left thigh was starting to cramp up near the top at the inside, I've never had trouble there before. Previously I had calf probs but I adjusted the angle and offset a bit and seem to have sorted that. Any tips?
I have quite narrow feet and can feel my toes floating around a bit inside the shoe. My old shoes were fairly heavily padded touring shoes and fitted a bit tighter at the front. Tried quite a few sizes before buying and the size itself seems OK. Maybe thicker socks would help, or a thin foam shim under the insole?

SL shoes are somewhat spartan compared to SPD shoes as they tend to be lighter. I would have thought that bad cleat position would have affected the knees more than thighs, thighs sounds like seat height unless its fore/aft positioning that's the problem.0
