Tubeless puncture repair

I just suffered a puncture (my first). It was caused by sharp rocks and is on the main tyre (not the sideqwall) right up against a tread block. I'd estimate about a 3 or 4mm slice. It wouldn't seal so I put a tube in.

My question is can it be patched from the inside and if so, what is the method, what patches should I use etc and would it be as good as new?

If not I guess it's ok to just keep running it with a tube. It's a Racing Ralph Evo Snakeskin 29er tyre and pretty new so I don't want to bin it.

Thanks
