hi guys, I got my first road bike the other day, specialized allez sport. What's the general verdict on this entry level bike and where should I be looking to start upgrading(once I've saved a few bob lol)

Thanks for the advice, I find the sora group set a tad clunky and has a mind of it's own when you climb lol, but for a first road bike it's going ok, I will get a new set of tyres ordered today then.Fat slow with a crap bike0

if it didn't come with them proper shoes and clipless pedals would be a great upgrade!0

road shoes and clipless pedals, costs about £100 altogether but well worth it0

Pedals and shoes fitted today, yes I agree me losing weight is the cheapest upgrade but my love affair with Ronald McDonald is a long standing one and will be difficult to let that go hahaFat slow with a crap bike0

Ordered a cateye wireless £25 bucks, that's me sorted for the next wee while now guys, thanks for taking the time to give any advice and with any luck I will be asking you guys which bike to buy next spring after I've saved a few quid and put a few miles on my allezFat slow with a crap bike0

If you have an i phone or android phone I found strava.com was an excellant tool to keep me motivated. It tracks your regular journeys and compares times so you can see how much you are improving and its free, it also shows other riders times so you can see how fast or slow you really are.0
