Riding in to work this morning through Kingston at about 7.50 was a large group of cyclists in RNLI cycling gear. Lycra, not oilskins and sowesters. All in matching RNLI liveried cycling shorts and tops. Variety of bicycles, all drop barred but some more touring. Burds and blokes.
Is it some sort of fundraising thing? I passed about 20 of them, but as they'd pulled in to wait for those stopped at a red light it doesn't count as scalping.

Thank you. That must have been them. Seems like a strange route, I presume they can sleep on the Portsmouth to Caen crossing though.
Would be far more impressive cycling in oilskins.0 -

That's probably about right. I was running a touch later than usual. You saw them shortly before me then, they were going under the bridge by Kingston Station on the Richmond Road and turned right towards Kingston Bridge. Quite a nice sight on a commute to work, hope the weather holds out for them.0
