Stumpy 120mm ?

Afternoon All
After riding Cannock last weekend, I have come to the conclusion that the Scale is maybe not 100% suited to the kind of riding I wish to do now. It’s done a great job of taking me to work and back, and is super fast and super light, but I don't feel that happy about throwing it down hills.
I have been lusting after something bouncy for some time now, and TBH I have been kicking myself that I didn’t go FS when I built the Scale (I was looking at a carbon Epic frame at one point).
So have decided to ditch the Scale frame and forks and maybe move to a Stumpy FSR 120mm. Have considered 140mm (i.e. Cannondale Prophet), but I think 120 is enough.
Ideally only want to outlay a few hundred extra on top of the sale of my current frame and forks, so a 2008/2009 Stumpy frame seems to fit the bill.
Anyone own/used to own ? what did you think ? any other suggestions ?

I know a few people who ride older 120mm stumpy's & they really like them . Also have a look at the Giant Trance X. If your on a budget you could go for a hardtail frame like an On One 456 and have some cash left over for a good set of forks, You can ride a hardtail as hard as a full sus.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

i could just put some 120mm forks on the Scale. Problem is i will still be lusting after a full susser, so may as well take the plunge.
After some reading up, i think i might opt for the Spesh FSR XC instead. Exact same geometry as the Stumpy. Made from M4 and not M5, but available on eBay relatively cheaper, leaving money for rear shock upgrade and adjustable seatpost.
Have found a US shop selling unused 2009 Fox F120RL 15QR for £270 delivered...0 -
I wouldn't recomend the Fox F120, unless you want to buy mine. Too flexy, I would go for some Revelations shortened to 130mm or a set of Reba's or ReconsTransition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350
