got some new wheels today, whats the tape stuff that goes inside the rim to protect the innertube from the spokes called, you would have thought £200 wheels would have come with some fitted :?

A couple of runs of insulating/electrical tape works just as well. :-)0

The best rim tape is old-fashioned cloth adhesive stuff- Velox is one brand though there may be others. The thin plastic tape has a habit of moving especially after repairing a puncture, resulting in punctures caused by rough spots on the rim being exposed.0
