Stiffest Campag-compatible wheelset sub £400?

No doubt this question has been asked elsewhere in the forum, but unless people are bit more explicit in their Subject line I'll never find it (coz can't be mithered trawling through a "New wheels?" entitled thread)...

SO

What might be the stiffest wheelset to put on a Campag-equipped bike that costs under £400 (wheels not bike)?

Weight isn't so much of an issue. If I really cared about weight I'd drink less cake and eat less beer.

Don't know if they are the stiffest available but +1 for the Neutrons.

Ksyrium SL 2nd hand if you can find... and i m thinking of flogging mine!
Neutrons are built to be lightweight and have delicate rims, wouldnt say they're going to be stiff for you unless you weigh 80kg.

^ Rubbish! - Magnus Backstedt rode a pair of Neutrons to victory in Paris-Roubaix, they are far from fragile. Having had both, yes they're not as stiff as Ksyrium SLs but they're more aero and actually more comfortable to ride.
I'm distinctly disenchanted with Mavic as they stop offering spares support for product after 5 years - about the same time it takes to wear out a pair of rims if you have more than one bike!
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Why not Campag Hubs/ 36 spokes each/ Mavic Open Pro, or Ambrosio Excellence rims? As stiff as anybody needs, very durable, easily serviceable, and surely less than £400.

^ There was me thinking he was after advice about stiff wheels. The Neutrons would be good for P-R as they have steel spokes and a rim that isnt going to try and break through a cobble, and as you say comfy, but as you also say SL's are stiffer...

It was your point about Neutron rims being 'fragile' which they certainly aren't - Backstedt was over 90kg and reknown bike wrecker - I've chatted to him personally and he certainly wouldn't use anything flimsy or unreliable.
To the OP - if you buy used Ksyrium SLs bear in mind replacement rims are £170 each - As a comparison I've just built a new pair of wheels weighing less than 1350g for £225.
Also try wheelsmith.co.uk who'll build you something pretty bombproof for £400 that won't cost a fortune to maintain.
