What do you do?

What do you do when you dont need a new bike (but you have just one aluminium 105 bike), but you find a full-dura ace, BB30, all carbon, Krysium elite beauty on a well reputed internet cycle shop for a ridiculous price, and you also have an additional 20% off voucher for the same bike meaning it would only be £2000. The same bike has pretty much glowing reviews, but a slightly garish colour scheme.

Too good to refuse?

PS I'm sure this one wouldn't squeak and crack!! ;-) ;-)

Sounds like you've already made your mind up! If you can afford it, why not!

Yeah, if you afford it, buy it and your other bike can become winter bike.
Or sell the frame to get rid of the creaks etc and get a Ribble winter frame for about £100.

I've replaced bits on my bike so I'll have a full Record groupset. Only get out 2 weekends in every 5 but I can afford to do it so I want to.

Also means we won't need to read anymore posts from you about problems :D:wink:

As long as it's the right size, do it... And as long as the place has a return policy :D ... And as long as you've got the money...

And as long as you don't gloat too much... And as long as you share the details ;) ....

I've decided to be sensible and keep with my current bike.

Maybe after the winter when I am fitter and lost all my weight then I will get something carbon & shiny!

Use TOUR20 on wiggle to get 20% off ANY bike (until end of the month)

The bike was this: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/focus-izalco-pr ... -ace-2011/ as used by Team Katusha, apparently.

Wiggle wont do their usual 30 day risk-free trial period on any bike with 15% or more discount, which put me off, but if you are sure of your sizing for this bike, then it's a bargain.

what you do, is apply for a 0pc credit card, and buy it. Then worry about paying for it after you've taken it home :D
  • Number of bikes currently owned = N
number of bikes needed at any one time = N+1

Always room for more bikes :D

I've just ordered myself a new Single Speed for winter

I find "Sensible" to be an over rated concept.

I just looked in the Collin's Road Cyclists Dictionary 2011 and could find no reference to 'Sensible'..........

Distance selling regs give you 28 days within which to return it, as it was bought over t'interweb. They don't have a choice.

    Buy it!

Distance selling regs only give a 7 day cooling off period generally:

    Buy it anyway though...

"Dont need a new bike" - are you mad?? We always need a new bike!! I currently "need" a new track bike and time trial bike. When i have them, then i'll no doubt "need" a new winter bike and then a new summer bike.
