one of my workmates has a old school cycling messenger bag , webbed strap with another to tie around waist with a high viz panel on the back. He said these were popular a while back with shops who would sell the to advertise themselves and clubs etc.
Vie looked online but can online find what look like laptop bags although the Evoc ones look good.
Anybody got any sites I could look on

Proper courier bags tend to be pricy. Crumpler, Timbuk2 and Chrome make good ones, and The North Face make one (called base camp) that seems to be quite popular. I think Ortlieb make one these days as well.
I use a Halfords Bikehut one that was on sale for eight quid. It's not the roomiest, the internal dividers and laptop padding take up a ton of space, and it's starting to fall apart (I've had it since April).
Still, it was eight quid. It's mostly the internal dividers that are coming apart so I might just cut all that out.0 -
I started with a DHB messenger bag and bought a Tumbuk2 medium for £30 last year. Popped into a shop and said I wanted one but couldn't justify the £60 price but luckily the shop had a faulty bag thet they were going to send back, one of the velcro pads was missing on the flap.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

I had a Timbuk2 custom made for me; it has a laptop sleeve and a subtly reflective panel on the back. Amazing, bulletproof bags, pricey but a lifetime's service.
I find it uncomfortable on a road bike though, so don't use it very often!0 -
My first bag was a Timbuk2 about 17 years ago. I've still got it but reitred it from regular use some years ago. Since retiring it I've been through a Fisher (the distributor, not Gary) and Soma hemp bag and I'm now running a custom designed Bagaboo.
The Bagaboo was not cheap but as the saying goes the quality is remembered long after the cost has been forgotten.

I did look for one of the old style north face bags they use to make in a glossy tarp , saw them a while back in Tk max in yellow etc but didn't buy one
