OP. Your location shows you in Milton Keynes. Do yourself a favour and book a fit at 23C, top of Stony Stratford High Street down the alley way next to Cycle King (cough spit). It's the best £80 you can spend on bike goodies; 2-3 hours going through everything; Alan knows what he's on about and follow-ups are included. He's good.

This assumes that you're not talking about 23C already and he's whacked his prices up since I went last year. I didn't get a video though.

CiB, it looks like its £90 now for the basic fit and setup.

I take it thats what ShaneR and yourself had.

Got any views on the £175 Retul Fit ? Is really that much better. For 175 i would have thought you got your Cleat position done as well.

Precision Fit at the velodrome in Manchester quoted me £120 for full fit including shoe/cleat assessment.

Not sure exactly what is involved (just measuring or special video / camera / computer assessment).

Seems that this is the standard price for a decent full fit.

I'm there tomorrow - doing track accreditation at 6pm but my best mate is getting the same fitting session from 3pm beforehand on his rebuilt bike. The two of us also going are both seriously considering a full setup too so are going to watch. Drop me a PM if you like and i'll let you know how it goes. i can get you some feedback Saturday am on how effective it is.

    Cheers

I paid £80 in March last year, so it's not a surprise it's gone up up wee bit. I don't recall every last detail but involved a lot of standing up being peered at & measured, a lot of measurements of me + bike, having my bike on the turbo and me riding it whilst still being peered at from many angles, measurements, adjustments, more peering, tweaks to one cleat to pull one knee in a bit, adjustments to the bike and the whole before & after measurements emailed to me in a spreadsheet, with the open invite to drop in anytime once those changes have settled for further adjustments that might be needed.

I can't do it justice in a glib post. It was extremely thorough; I did 20 miles before the fit and went home a longer way round doing another 25 afterwards and despite the eventual quite small changes - I had been quite close but was never happy with the new bike (from another outlet) - it really was night & day as a result of the fit. I couldn't recommend it too much.

I opted for the cheaper one as the reality is I use the bike for commuting and weekend rides of up to 100 miles or so; I don't need to get every last drop out of it even though I could probably do the commute in < 1 hour more if I did.

Cheers Paul - let me know how it goes.

Mine was meant to be on Wednesday this week, but I had to cancel due to my bike still being in the workshop until Wed afternoon.

He rescheduled the appt to be at his house as apparently the velodrome was shut for construction or something?
