Hi - do quite a bit of mountain biking but also want a road bike for probably mainly 2hr rides, but with the potential to do more, perhaps a full day should I enjoy it - so a reasonable price to at least have something light and reliable but not too much to start with so I feel guilty

I am impressed by the Merida Road Ride 91 over some other better known brands as seems excellent value for money for seemingly decent kit - especially for less than £700.00

Any thoughts welcome please

plenty of quality second hand bikes around at the moment with better specs than the merida for around £700, try the for sale forum on here or ebay, i got a basically new Ribble Gran Fondo for £400 less than buying from Ribble....
