hey guys, had a good read through here, some great advice.
am looking at going into a higher end bike finally, have had a specialized hardrock for 3 years now, and its been thrashed to hell. want to upgrade to a bike with discs, and a quality light frame, also quality gear system, as the hardrock lacks when under pressure on trails.
ive noticed the reccomendations on here, rockhopper, fury etc.
the bike thats really got my attention so far has been the cube LTD comp: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=57172
also the cube acid:

heard alot of good things about orange, but not a clue what to go for. looking to spend up to £1000, and want something that i wont have to spend alot of cash repearing in a year after a good few months on the trails.
any advice would be grand, cheers

If you are after a hardtail for general trail riding and cross country, then the Boardman bikes are about the best out there.
The Cube LTD is certainly worth the extra over the Acid, as the latter is saddled with a very mediocre fork.
Orange bikes are not the best value.0 -
thanks for your reply mate, these are the 2 that have stood out to me:

is there a huge jump in quality from the team to the pro? also, how do they compare against the cube LTD team and pro?0 -
after a few chats with mates, they said full suss may benefit me due to me having bad knee's and a bad back, come up with these two, do you guys have any opinions? im fairly limited to what i can get due to having to use finance, otherwise it would be canyon nerve 6.0 straight off.
so yea, cube:

any help would be much appreciated, sorry for being such a noob, seems this forums gets alot of guys asking which bikes to buy...0 -
Boardman full susser?

An FS will help your back, won't really help your knees unless your riding on stuff rough enough to leave you out the saddle - so that depends on where you ride!

You may fit a medium - try one.0

had a measure and i need a large, going to order mine in tonight, 2 week waiting time apparently. which is tough, got myself all hyped for this weekend, but cant rush these things i guess. is the boardman ahead of others like the above bikes i mentioned? or just better for 1k?0

Measured what exactly? Have you tried the bike(s) in question for size? Size guides mean very little, what feels best is the way forward.0
