Jacket Recommendation

Hi - first foray onto the Commuting area of the forum.
I'm an MTBer who has started to do the 14 mile commute into work last month.
Has all been fine - up until yesterday when I got caught in a tropical downpour.
So I have deceded that I need a lightweight jacket for the summer.
My requirements are that it must be:
Light (I get hot quickly)
Small (so i can carry it in my backpack)
Cheapish (although I am willing to up my price if the right thing comes along)
At the moment I am looking at something like a clear race jacket:

Any thoughts or recommendations? :?:
(I know that it wont save me in the downpour I experienced yesterday, but I want something that will get me through a 30 minute shower.)
Thanks...(and sorry if this has all been done before)

I'm prone to overheating/sweating too and so I never wear a jacket in the summer. Unless your pace is very leisurely even good quality waterproofs will make you sweaty and uncomfortable in no time.
I stick to a base layer and gilet combo from spring to Autumn, varying the type of baselayer according to the temp. If it rains I just accept that I'm going to get wet. Better to be wet from rain and a comfortable temp than wet with sweat and uncomfortably hot at the same time!0 -
I got one of these last month - fits in a jersey pocket, never mind a backpack..

Not the cheapest, admittedly, but superlight, waterproof and I am a bit of a brand tart so it fits the bill . . .
The dhb one looks like it will do a similar job but for half the price. You really can't go wrong with dhb gear.0 -
