On my commute I have to cross a dual carriageway. At the light controlled cross roads there are three lanes marked for turning left and right onto the dual carriageway and the middle for traveling straight across.
So there I am sitting in the turn right lane waiting for the lights to change, opposite me there is a fellow commuter in the middle lane with a kid on a mountain bike next to him. In the left lane there is a Esso tanker waiting to turn left.
Their lights change and all move off. Commuter moves off quickly, kid on mountain bike turns left from the middle lane and chops in front of the tanker as he is moving off!!!
Couldn't believe what I saw. There was no way the driver could have seen the kid until he was out in front. It was one of those moments where you wait for it to happen knowing you are helpless to intervene.
The kid got away with it and the truck went around him, just luck the driver was slow moving off and had a full load.
