Im planning on buying a set of sun ringle mtx 33 welded for my 09 Stumpjumper comp HT. Can anyone tell me if 2.25 tyres will fit ok and also whats the biggest tyre that fits the rear of the stumpjumper ?

This is a huge rim for an xc bike. Why?

Not using it for xc anymore. Changed a lot of things on it more for jumps etc but keep trashing the back wheel on a regular basis and want something pretty bulletproof on it to take heavy landings

2.25 will fit, and I think 2.3 is the max for the frame.

But the bike is not designed for jumping, as were not the original rims. I think you will kill the frame eventually.

If jumping and hard riding is your scene, you need a new bike.

Thanks for that. Planning on buying a frame and building a bike for that purpose. The stumpy will hopefully last until its completed

well the MTX is not really a jump rim. if you are jumping and trashing rims I would look at a different rim for the new build.
