Have been cycling for a couple of years and a couple of weeks ago I went on a bike tour. We did approximately 450 miles over the week and I gave myself a week off the bike to recover.
On getting back on the bike my legs are still tired and fatigue, anyone got any ideas to help shift it?
Any help appreciated as I am due too go for my first club ride this Saturday!!!

Just do a couple of easy rides. Taking a complete week off after a hard week might seem like the best thing to do, but a few gentle rides would probably have quickened your recovery.More problems but still living....0

Yes, I have found that recovery rides really do help.
If you have a turbo then just set a very light resistance and spin at a decent cadence for 20-30 mins, followed by a thigh/quad massage (pref with baby oil ) and a good stretching routine, holding stretches for 30 seconds min.
If you don't have a turbo, pick a nice flat route and avoid chasing down anyone :twisted:0 -
A couple of steady 10-20 mile recovery rides @ 20mph should helpI'm sorry you don't believe in miracles0

Foam Roller for self massage. Muscles need to rest just as much as they are worked.0

just do short - medium rides every other day at really low intensity and high RPM
foam roller is good too, bit of a pain though!0
