which halfords bike?

hi peeps,

got a friend who wants to get a road bike using cycle to work, his place will only let him use halfords,

budget of £300-£400, had a quick look and we have

all the bikes are £299 apart from the last one (Carrera Virtuoso Road Bike 2011 - Large 54cm) which is £399

which would people say is the best and why, which would you chose?

Tell him to do a Internet search for good bikes in his price range, because if u have to use Halfords then they can order the bike in for him.
